Book Review: 15th Affair by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

15th Affair

by

James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

For those that read my blog, you will know that one of my favourite book series is The Women's Murder Club by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro. 15th affair is the next book in the series after 14th Deadly Sin. This book was bought for me as a birthday present from my wife.

"San Francisco's best detective is back with a bang. A cracking read"

PrĂ©cis (taken from the cover):

Detective Lindsay Boxer chases an elusive suspect...her husband. As she settles into motherhood and a happy marriage, Lindsay Boxer thinks she has found domestic bliss. But when a beautiful, alluring blonde woman with links to the CIA disappears from the scene of a brutal murder at a downtown luxury hotel, Lindsay's life begins to unravel. Before she can track down the woman for questioning, a plane crash plunges San Francisco into chaos and Lindsay's husband Joe vanishes. The deeper she digs, the more Lindsay suspects that Joe shares a secret past with the mystery blonde. Thrown into a tailspin and questioning everything she thought she knew, Lindsay turns to the Women's Murder Club for help as she tries to uncover the truth. Filled with pulse-pounding international intrigue, 15TH Affair proves that all is fair in love, war, and espionage.

Review:

15th Affair like all the previous books in this series gets straight into the action. Within the first couple of pages something bad has happened and you are hooked. This is why I love them so much, that and the fact that San Francisco is our favourite city and my two favourite US sports teams are from there (49ers & Giants)

The book is written where you can read this as a stand a lone if you like, but for me it would be more beneficial for you to read these books in order. That way you get to understand the characters a lot better and the relationships between them all.

The story in its self is great. It always amazes me how many new and exciting plots lines James Patterson comes up with. There is a couple of incidents in this book that you follow which are all linked to Joe (Linday's Husband) and it was great to see Lindsay trying to keep her emotions in check to make sure the bad guys are caught.

The Women's Murder Club are Detective Lindsay Boxer, DA Yuki Castellano, ME Claire Washburn & News Reporter Cindy Thomas and together they are friends first but also help each other solve crimes. This book did not involve all of them as much as normal, which you could say would be the one thing I did not like about this book, but because of the story, it was more centered around Lindsay so I understand in a way.

I read this book in just over a week which is great for me and as the summer holiday season is coming, this book is perfect for you to take away with.

Although The Women's Murder Club were not involved as much I still scored this book a 5 out of 5. It was a really good read and I can't wait to read the next book in the series 16th Seduction.

Have you read this book? What do you think of it? Do you agree with me or not? Let me know.
